One hot and dusty afternoon, a woman came to a well to draw water. There she found the Savior resting from His long journey. She was surprised when He asked for a drink because she was a Samaritan, a group despised by the Jews. She said, ®How is it that thou, being a Jew, askest drink of me...for the Jews have no dealings with the Samaritans.® The Savior then taught, ®Whosoever drinketh of the water I shall give him shall never thirst.® (John 4)
We often feel like this woman, and judge ourselves unworthy to be with the Lord. We go about our daily duties feeling we have never done enough. And yet, as we go forward in faith, we come to find, as the woman did, that Jesus knows us each personally. He knows every strength, every flaw, and every tear that has been shed. As we sit at his feet He reminds us that we are all daughters of God accepted and loved by Him.
